My Methodologies

70% of organisations say leaders must master a much broader range of behaviours to meet current and future demands
(HBR, 2025).

Leaders are now expected to be multi-disciplinary specialists, which is not achievable without structured development.

My experience working with many individuals and organisations has led me to explore a range of frameworks. Which ones I may use completely depends on the situation’s needs. Here is an overview of the methodologies that form the basis of my approach.

Strengths-based Development

Strengthscope®, a scalable model based on 24 key leadership strengths, is my psychometric assessment of choice.

A strengths-based approach is energising to employees and essential for accessing the zone of peak performance i.e. the sweet spot between business strategy, technical knowledge and strengths. Strengthscope supports people to play to their unique strengths – ideal if you’d like to:

  • Build a high-performing organisation
  • Build effective leadership and team habits
  • Improve key business metrics

Strengthscope is verified by the British Psychological Society, and used by companies including Sage, Amazon, M&S and EDF Energy.

    Internal Family Systems (IFS)

IFS is a groundbreaking psychological model that fosters self- awareness and leadership effectiveness.

IFS views our internal world as composed of various “parts”,  influencing thoughts, emotions and behaviours. They generally have a protective intention e.g. avoid feeling not good enough.

Parts can become extreme in strategies, dictating how we show up at work e.g. perfectionism, procrastination, pleasing, risk averse, avoidant, needing to be right.

IFS is powerful lens through which to identify and work with parts so that we can lead from a more secure, curious, and courageous place.

Benefits of working with IFS include:

    • Improved decision-making and problem-solving
    • Greater resilience in the face of challenges
    • More effective communication & relationships
    • Increased creativity and innovation

    Strengths-based Leadership

The Stretch Leadership™ model illustrates the relationship between your strengths, the four leadership habits and outcome measures.

Building on the baseline Strengthscope report, the model offers a research-backed framework for individuals to achieve peak performance by:

    1) Establishing what they bring as a leader

    2) Evaluating how they behave against 4 essential habits:

    • Sharing vision
    • Sparking engagement
    • Skilfully executing
    • Sustaining progress

    3) Measuring how effectively they deliver on 4 leadership outcomes:

    • Purpose
    • Passion
    • Process
    • Performance

      Authentic Leadership Brand

Building your leadership brand is an essential practical activity which helps shape communication of what’s important to you and how you can make an intentional positive impact as a leader.

A leadership brand helps you to:

      • Differentiate yourself in competitive marketplaces
      • Increase your visibility in your organisation and make others aware of your value
      • Ensure people understand who you are & how to work with you
      • Become more confident and motivated as you gain awareness and clarity about what you offer and what makes you positively different
